増田 寿志  Hisashi Masuda

1972年生まれ、北海道倶知安町出身。

父親の影響で幼少期より山歩きや自然に親しむ。16歳のころ、北海道・尻別川で出会ったヤマセミをきっかけに野生動物の生態に興味を持つ。その後、画家アンドリュー・ワイエス、野生動物画家ロバート・ベイトマンの絵と出会い、絵画の道を志す。

北海道やアラスカなど北方圏の自然を愛し、そこで観察した動物たちの生態を、ペンや鉛筆、アクリル絵具による細密画と文章で伝えている。札幌、東京、神戸などでの個展のほか、新聞や雑誌での連載、挿絵、図鑑の標本画や恐竜の復元画等の制作も行う。2016年、画文集「風のゆくえ〜北の動物たちを描く〜」を北海道新聞社より刊行。札幌市在住。

Born in Kutchan town, Hokkaido 1972.
He is fascinated by the untouched northern nature, such as Hokkaido and Alaska. His landscape drawings of pristine wilderness are created by pencil, pen and acrylic. Besides personal art exhibitions held in Sapporo, Tokyo and Kobe, he also draws illustrations for newspapers and books.
